About me
I was born and raised in Berlin. I grew up in East Germany. My mother is German, my father is British. Both are academics and political intellectuals. My interest in international development and the human condition is deeply rooted in my upbringing.

I have worked with both academic and non-academic institutions. I consider myself an engaged scholar and teacher who seeks to generate impact in academia, public debates and development. I enjoy organizing workshops and panels on development and other topics bringing together different communities. More on that below and in Initiatives.
I have lived in Berlin (Germany); Coventry and Brighton (UK); Lekhnath Municipality (Nepal); Durham, Boston and New York (USA). I have traveled and conducted studies in many countries across all continents. My favorite region is sub-Saharan Africa. I take an interest in film, bodywork, blogging and meeting people around the world.
